Direct primary care disclosure
A plain-language explanation of what your Crafted Care membership is, what it includes, and what it does not replace, before you decide to join.
A Crafted Care Pediatrics membership is a direct patient care agreement, not health insurance. Under Texas law (Texas Occupations Code, Chapter 117, Direct Patient Care), Crafted Care is not an insurer or health maintenance organization, and your membership is not regulated by the Texas Department of Insurance. Texas law requires us to tell you that clearly before you join, so here it is in plain terms.
How the membership works
One simple monthly or annual membership covers your child's everyday care at Crafted Care, so visits are not billed to insurance one at a time. The membership is what makes unhurried appointment times and direct access to Dr. Wesp possible. It is a different way of paying for primary care, and it works alongside your health insurance.
- Well visits and sick visits with Dr. Wesp
- Behavioral health support
- Direct access to Dr. Wesp
- Newborn home visits, as an optional add-on
- Hospital care and emergency care
- Labs, imaging, and specialist visits
- Prescription costs
- Vaccines and other services billed to insurance
Keep your health insurance
A Crafted Care membership does not replace hospitalization, emergency services, specialist care, or medication coverage. We recommend every family keep a separate health insurance plan for the care a membership does not cover, and many families continue to use that insurance for labs, imaging, specialists, and prescriptions alongside their Crafted Care membership.
Your written agreement
Before you enroll as a full member, you will receive a written membership agreement that spells out the exact scope of services, fees, and cancellation terms in plain language. Please read it in full, and bring any questions to Dr. Wesp, before you sign.
Questions before you join
Every family who joins is invited to a free meet and greet with Dr. Wesp first, so you can ask about fees, what is included, what is not, and how urgent issues are handled before you commit. See our frequently asked questions or membership pricing, or go ahead and join the waitlist to get started.
